That's RIGHT! ONE minute life drawing!! X3

Immediately when I saw the model pose for this, I knew it was going into my portfolio. The pose and angle from which I saw this pose was just perfect for a quick drawing: both legs planted, 1 arm visible, and a half covered the face (since it's pretty much impossible to draw a FULL standing figure in 1 minute.. successfully anyway).

I like this because each stroke serves a purpose. I really had no time to think about details. It was just line after line until the 1 minute was over.

Initially, I placed the left knee too low and I had to redraw it's position twice before the pose ended. So it looks a little messy there but I don't want to erase it. I NEVER touch my figure drawings after a pose. I'm quite against it as a matter of fact ;)

This doesn't seem like you. I know it's a one minute drawing but the piece seems so abstract. I am not saying that this is a bad thing, just unusual.

I like how rudimentry the figure is, reminds me of something Picasso would make. (a stretch).

I also like how the body carries no expression but yet you can piece details of the person together (if that makes any sense).

Honestly and sincerely, I like this side of you and I like this piece.

Some critique: the side of the body on the right is a little bizarre; I think you need to fix that line.

Thanks for the suggestion and comments. As for the line on the side of the body, do you mean that straight vertical line for the abdominal area?

Sometimes with figure drawing, I go a little crazy and try new stuff. This is definitely not my regular way of drawing. It's more instinctive (based on memory and knowledge of the human muscles/bones) and less visually accurate.

There are some even wackier drawings .. And all of which I LOST!! I must've left them in school and eventually got trashed! ._.

I like being expressive with life drawing. I wish I could do so with my 'regular' art

I know!! And I still owe you that picture!! Hahaha

I really need to submit more. I'm thinking of doing speed paintings for submission (2hr. paintings). There's so little in my gallery.. and so much I am not allowed to show to the public.

your lines are really confident! ^^ whenever i lifedraw i have a problem with going back and forth on the same line to mold out what i see @_@

don't worry man. it takes time. i use to do that too.. even in second year/third year. I need a good warmup (lots of quick drawings) before i can get to this confident stage in my drawings.
